Dumplin

Dumplin’ is a 4 year old, 14.1H Chestnut MO Fox Trotter mare.

What a sweetie!! We’ve begun some training exercises with her and it appears that she hasn’t had much in the form of formal training. She is a complete love bug though and very personable. She is fairly well halter broke, loves to be groomed, ties and trailers. She’s also been very good for the farrier and vet. She’s currently barefoot and completely sound. We hope to have her backed soon and will keep you posted on her progress unless, of course, you’d like to take over… She will need an experienced home willing to continue with her training and conditioning. If you’re looking for a comfy gaited horse to have some fun with, this may be the one!

Missy

Missy was born in foster care on Mother's Day to Bumpkin. She's dark chestnut with a star at the moment but looks like she may turn bay like her mom. Her sire was a Paint horse. She's been imprinted and halters, leads, clips (as you can see by the picture :), ties and will pick up her feet. She's super sweet and should grow to be 14+ hands. She will be weaned in the beginning of September and will be ready to go to an experienced home. Please email sbryant@nhspca.org for more information.

Romeo's Whisper (Whispy)
Adoption Pending

Whisper is a four month old chestnut and white tobiano paint filly. She was born in foster care on June 9th and spent the summer with her mom out on pasture. She's being weaned at the moment and should be ready to go after her first round of vaccinations.
She's a really nice little filly. Clever, cute and very flashy! We expect that she'll finish growing at around 15 - 15.2 H. She's straight and correct with decent bone at this point. She's halter broke and was very good for her first farrier appointment. She handled trailering like a pro and has been very easy to work with. She will need an experienced home and an owner willing to do a lot of training and wait at least a couple of years to ride. Please email sbryant@nhspca.org for more information

Party Time Pony

“Petey” is approximately 25 - 30 years YOUNG. He’s about 9 Hands tall and cute as a button. He was found extremely emaciated and upon veterinary inspection we discovered a calcified salivatory gland in his mouth making it virtually impossible for him to eat. Although his apparent age and condition were going to make his rehabilitation difficult, he had a twinkle in his eye and spring in his step that belied his run down appearance. He hadn’t given up and neither did we. After some intensive care, he was readied for oral surgery and, despite our trepidation, soared through it with flying colors. He wasn’t out of the woods, however, and spent another week or so at the hospital under close supervision. He didn’t know what all the fuss was about and continued to improve until he was released into our care.

Today he’s doing awesome! Although he will never be able to eat a normal horse diet and grazing doesn’t work for him, he loves his Hay Pellet/Sr. Feed Mash ~ mealtimes are his favorite parts of every day. While we give him a little hay for entertainment value he simply can’t process it and just makes it into little balls. He’s been packing on the pounds, though, and we expect him to be a fairly easy keeper once his weight is back up to normal.

We called him Party Time as he loves to be the center of attention and wants to be involved in all the comings and goings around the farm. He readily bonds to people and will follow you around like a puppy. Always up for a little party, he enjoys being groomed and patiently lets the neighborhood kids brush and braid his long flowing mane. His feet are a little out of shape from an inconsistent diet and lack of trimming, but he’s been sound and regular farrier work should straighten them out in no time. He’s also done very well with other horses and ponies and would be a super companion for a lonely horse. He’s ready to find a nice family willing to give him the love and affection he deserves. Petey is currently in foster care and can be seen by appointment only. His adoption fee is $100.

Bumpkin

Our little Country Bumpkin is blossoming! She's an adorable dark bay 11.3 hand pony. She's approximately 18 years old and is settling into a wonderful little riding pony. She is still a little shy and needs some finish work. She'll be ready to go to an experienced home as soon as Missy is weaned in September. Please email sbryant@nhspca.org for more information.

“And then there were two….”

Billy Bob is an adult black, horned, pygmy wether; Jethro is an adult tan, horned, pygmy wether. They’re about 5 years old. These two little goats are cute and shy. They’re not very well socialized but will follow you anywhere if you’re holding a bucket of grain. They’re very well bonded and we’ve decided to make them a companion set as they really like to hang out together. They’ve lived with ponies and will get along with gentle horses. They are currently at the shelter and can be seen during regular business hours.

Adoption Fee: $25 for Both

PS: Junebug has been adopted by the Pond View Restaurant in Kingston as a companion to their lonely little goat. It’s a lovely atmosphere and we’re sure she’ll get lots of attention.
Feel free to pop in to pay her a visit and perhaps get a bite to eat!
