Help us Clear the Shelter

Posted by

The New Hampshire SPCA is proud to once again be a part of Clear The Shelters this Saturday, August 19.   This important day, which takes place in shelters across the country, is critical in helping thousands of animals find their forever home. This year we hope that our Clear the Shelter event helps bring awareness to some of our harder to place animals, those with special diets or medical conditions, senior animals, or animals who have been waiting far too long for a home.

Here are just some of the amazing animals at the New Hampshire SPCA waiting to meet you!

Ranger is a handsome 4 year-old, Terrier mix who came on a rescue transport. He, like many homeless dogs who enter the shelter, has not had proper leash training or basic command training. Ranger is very bright and is making progress with the staff here at the shelter. He had a field trip to the beach and was great in the car and was very well behaved. He was just as happy as can be to be spending time outside his kennel.  His excitement and energy would fit perfectly into an active lifestyle. If there are children in his forever home, they should be at least teen-aged. Ranger seems fine with other dogs he has met here at the shelter and would love to come home with you!

This Saturday only, Ranger's adoption fee is just $100. As always our adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip and up to date vaccines, as well as three complementary behavior and training sessions with our certified trainers. More info on adoption here.

Girlie.  This poor girl was left at the shelter when her family was moving and unable to take her with them. This transition was not a smooth one for Girlie as she does not like other cats so being around them in the shelter environment is hard for her. While she is really unhappy and uncomfortable around other cats, she really likes humans, especially those with cat treats to share! When she spends some one-on-one time with staff her personality comes out and she becomes very loving and affectionate. If only she had the chance to be that way all the time. This 5 year old beauty is really looking to go to a loving family where she can finally be herself. Give her that chance, come in and meet Girlie.

This Saturday only, Girlie's adoption fee is just $25. As always our adoption fee includes, spay/neuter, microchip and up to date vaccines and  flea and tick preventatives. More info on adoption here.

Timothy is a white/cream colored domestic mix rabbit who enjoys relaxing in his cage. He has been at the shelter for some time now, wondering when he will find his forever family. He is 3 months old and sweet as can be, he likes to be held and brushed. Come in and find out more about this handsome boy, it might just be the perfect fit.

This Saturday only, Timothy's  adoption fee is just $22.50.  ( half off the standard fee) As always our adoption fee for Rabbits includes spay/neuter and nail trim. Download a rabbit adoption form here.

Cheyenne is a 16 year old, 15.2 hand gelding. He's forward and confident on the trails. He hasn't reared, bucked or bolted. His foster Mom said he doesn't seem to be afraid of much. He's been around motorcycles, trash trucks, UPS trucks, nearby horses, and fireworks down the street without any issues. He just doesn't care for clippers! He's good for the farrier/Vet. Up to date on vaccines, farrier and dental. He has a lot of character and is a real goofball!

We currently have over 20 horses available for adoption at the New Hampshire SPCA. Contact our Farm Animal Coordinator for more info at 603-772-2921 x 124  or Mcooper@nhspca.org
