Stratham,
NH For Immediate Release Dog
on the run in Greenland now Found
Stratham
NH - An Akita adopted from the NHSPCA in Stratham was on its way to the veterinarian
in Greenland when she got away from her owner. "Kita" as the dog is
known, had been missing and was on the run for ten days until she was finally
caught today by Steve Sprowl, investigator and Manager of the NHSPCA Field Services
Division. After many calls
and numerous sightings, she was spotted today on Bayshore Drive in Greenland.
Following her tracks for more than two miles, she was finally seen but remained
at a distance. She was then tracked for over three hours before being finally
lured with food and captured. "Kita
has lost a little weight and has a small scrape on her nose. She will need to
be properly checked out by a veterinarian, but otherwise appears to be in great
shape after her many days on the lam," reports Sprowl. The
NHSPCA would like to thank the Greenland Police Department for their assistance
in bringing Kita safely home. The
New Hampshire SPCA is a community resource center that provides animal adoption,
education, investigation and sheltering services in a professional and compassionate
way. The Adoption Center is open from 11 am - 4pm on Monday, Friday, Saturday
and Sunday, 11 am - 7pm on Tuesday and Thursday, and closed on Wednesday. For
