Hampshire SPCA Offers Disaster Preparedness Information Night
Stratham
NH Severe weather, flooding, chemical spills, prolonged power outages and
even earthquakes have happened in the past or can happen here in the future in
New England. Being prepared in advance is the single most important thing you
can do for your whole family, pets included. To
help prepare you for this situation the NHSPCA will host a Disaster Preparedness
Information night at its Learning Center for Pets and People Thursday, February
22nd. The workshop is located at the NHSPCA in Stratham, 104 Portsmouth Ave, route
108. The cost is $10.00 per person and pets should stay home at this time.
Drop in at the New Hampshire
SPCA Learning Center for Pets and People any time between 6:30 to 8:30 PM on Thursday,
February 22nd to learn how to prepare your pets and your family in the event of
a disaster. Information
provided will include: Making your own pet first aid kit, creating a family plan,
pet friendly Hotels and motels, creating a ready to go evacuation kit, the importance
of identification for your pet and information about the Adoption Centers programs,
services and their innovative Disaster Response Team. The
New Hampshire SPCA is a community resource center that provides animal adoption,
education, investigation and sheltering services in a professional and compassionate
way. The Adoption Center is open from 11 am 4pm on Monday, Friday, Saturday
and Sunday, 11 am 7pm on Tuesday and Thursday, and closed on Wednesday.
