NHSPCA schedules last Rabies Clinics for the year.
The New Hampshire SPCA is holding four rabies clinics in 2005.
The first is Sunday, March 13th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The cost
is $15.00 per animal for a 3-year vaccinations (if you have proof
of a vaccination last year or three years ago) and $10.00 for a
1-year vaccination. All the clinics are on Sundays from 10:00 am
to 1:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary but your pets must be on
a leash or in a carrier.
Other dates in 2005: April 17, May 22, and August 14
Rabies is a fatal disease that is communicable to humans. Transmitted
through the saliva of an infected animal, bite wounds are the most
common method of infection, but any contact with saliva to an open
wound or sore can cause infection. Fox, raccoons, and skunks are
the most common mammals to catch, carry and spread the rabies virus.
In addition to a rabies vaccine the NHSPCA recommends that your
pet receive the following veterinary care for its general well being:
DOGS: Annual physical exam, Distemper and Parvo Virus Vaccination,
Lyme Disease Vaccination,
Heartworm Testing and monthly preventative medication, Regular flea
and tick prevention.
CATS: Annual physical exam, Feline Distemper Vaccination, Feline
Leukemia Vaccination, Regular flea and tick prevention.
The NHSPCA is a community resource center brining animals and people
together. They provide adoption, education investigation, and sheltering

a.m. - 4 p.m. on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 11 a.m.
