NHSPCA in Desperate Need

Dixie Doodle Needs a Forever Home!

Stratham NH - The New Hampshire SPCA has a record number of cats, kittens and small furry pets that need new homes. Among them is Dixie Doodle, a spayed female Dutch Rabbit cross, who will mark her one year anniversary at the Adoption Center on November 1st. The shelter is no place for an animal to live out its whole life.
The NHSPCA is holding a special Adopt-a-thon event this Friday and Saturday, October 27th and 28th, to try to address the overpopulation problem in its kennels. There are over 100 cats, including 15 kittens that are in desperate need of new, loving families. The number of animals in the kennels needs to be reduced to make room for the over 80 that are coming back into the Adoption Center from Foster Care. The Adopt-a-thon will be held during extended hours Friday and Saturday from 11:00 am - 9:00 pm and applications for adopters may be downloaded from the web site and completed ahead of time.
Adoption Center Staff hope to double the number of adoptions that typically take place on a weekend during the upcoming Adopt-a-thon. Visitors will enjoy special treats and have a chance to enter a raffle while the staff and volunteers work to place 75 pets in new homes.
People that can not help by taking home a cat, kitten, guinea pig, ferret, rat, gerbil, rabbit or hamster can help in a very big way by making a donation to the NHSPCA in Stratham. The shelter needs canned kitten food, canned and dry cat food, kitty litter and towels and blankets for bedding. The shelter is so full these days that for the first time in a very long time even their dog and puppy food supplies are depleted.
The New Hampshire SPCA is a community resource center that provides animal adoption, education, investigation and sheltering services in a professional and compassionate way. The Adoption Center is open from 11 am - 4pm on Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 11 am - 7pm on Tuesday and Thursday, and closed on Wednesday.
