The adopt-a-thon seeks to find new loving homes for the nearly 200 animals currently in the care of the NHSPCA by extending hours and offering unprecedented discounts on dogs and cats. The agency will be open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11 am - 7 pm. There will be discounts on all animals, with special discount programs available for military Veterans. Some of the items needed are: chap sticks, toothpaste, deodorant, body wash, tylenol, aspirin, dental floss, cotton balls, shampoo/conditioner, handi-wipes, air fresheners, flip flops, white socks mid-calf to go over boots, disposable razors, shave gel, hand-warmers, individually packaged snack food items that they can share, such as cookies, nuts, trail mix, pop tarts, micro-wave popcorn, hard candy, tootsie pops & rolls, fiber one bars, coffee, crystal light on the go, to add to their water, as well as Mechanical Pencils, crayons, erasers, writing tablets, composition books, pencil sharpeners, frisbees, jump ropes, soccer balls, baseballs, nerf balls, puzzle books, etc.

"It is such a pleasure to honor Veterans Day in this way. It is going to be a great weekend," said Director of Development and Marketing Sheila Ryan.
