We are now offering the opportunity for children to participate in homework clubs in our Humane Education classroom! This is a chance for your child to work on assignments in a quiet space while also having an opportunity to interact with and learn about our classroom animals.

Children who participate in homework clubs at the NHSPCA will have time for an afterschool snack (be sure to pack an extra for after school and note any allergy restrictions on the registration!), complete homework assignments (if your child finishes their assignment early, they can read or complete educational activities like crossword puzzles or word searches) and interact with our classroom animals. An adult will be available to supervise and help with clarification of assignments, but it is important to note that this is not a tutoring program. If your child needs more intensive support, this may not be the best fit.

Homework clubs will meet 3 times per month:

For middle school students (grades 6-8), clubs will meet on Tuesdays from 2:30-4:00 pm.

For elementary students (grades 3-5), clubs will meet on Thursdays from 3:30-5:00 pm.

Transportation Information:

While students from any town are welcome to attend, the SAU16 transportation department has kindly offered to establish a bus stop at the top of our hill for students from Stratham Memorial School and Cooperative Middle School who are attending homework club. Students who are participating in bussed transportation will need to remember to get on the correct bus on the correct dates and to remind the driver to drop them at the NHSPCA for homework club. An adult will be available to meet students at the top of the hill to walk them down to the building. Students who are not able to take the bus must be dropped off, and all students must be picked up. There is no before or after-care option for this program.

Elementary school students should take bus number 28 and Middle school students should take bus number 26. Both buses have assigned stops at the NHSPCA, but students must remember to tell the driver that they are being dropped there. Elementary parents should also notify the school via Pickup Patrol. Buses will not stop at the NHSPCA automatically.

Cost: $40 for one month (3 consecutive weeks)
