Alright, we gotta be honest… Lola is about as cuddly as a cactus.

Behind that Grinch-y face and tough exterior is a broken soul that is trying to navigate her incredibly tragic situation. We have learned that Lola has a hard time adapting when circumstances change. To be fair, until we welcomed her back in September, she had spent her entire life (six years) with one person — a person Lola loved with her entire being.

So, when Lola’s person passed away, her world was flipped upside down. She not only lost her beloved companion, but also her true sense of Home.

To be frank, Lola simply hates her new situation. Hate, hate, hate. Double hate. Loathe.

We knew the shelter environment wasn’t doing this beautiful girl any favors (she’d probably tell you being there Stinks! Stank! Stunk!) so we moved her into a foster home. Her foster mom has been incredibly patient, has provided her with a quiet space to decompress, and recently recruited the help of a cat behaviorist to try to build their trust. Lola has been there for two months now and is still having a hard time.

Lola’s broken heart is taking a very long time to heal… and we believe that now more than ever, she could really use a friend.

Someone who will say, “No matter how different a Who may appear, he will always be welcomed with holiday cheer.”

Our wish is to find this little Grinch her very own Cindy Lou Who – someone to help Lola see that there are good things on the horizon. Someone with an abundance of patience, compassion and love to give, knowing that it won’t be returned right away.

Are you the special person who can give Lola all the time she needs to let her heart grow three sizes and help her see that her beloved owner would have wanted her to love and be loved again?
