Day of Registration
Can I bring my dog?
Yes! If your dog is licensed, leashed and up to date on vaccinations, we’d love to see them there! We ask that female dogs that are in season not attend. All dogs must be sociable.
Is there a rain date?
No. Paws Walk will take place on Sunday, June 9 rain or shine.
Will there be food available?
Absolutely! Food and drinks will be available for sale in Vendor Village.
If I have registered and am walking my dog, is it OK if someone else walks with me?
Registration for the event is per person, not per dog, so if someone wants to walk with you registration is necessary.
I’m a cat/bird/horse/etc lover. Do I have to bring a dog to walk or may I come by myself?
You don’t have to bring a dog in order to participate in the event. We welcome animal lovers of all types! Remember, this is a “dog only” event though. Unfortunately, participants may not bring any animal other than a dog.
How do I get a Paws Walk shirt?
You have the option to purchase your 2019 Paws Walk tee shirt with your registration OR register and raise $25 by May 10 to earn your shirt! Teams of 3 or more Walkers that raise $25+ per team member by May 10 will receive a custom 2019 Paws Walk shirt with their team name on the back
How do I get the other cool prizes?
The more money you raise you for the animals, the more prizes that you’ll earn! Prizes are earned based on your own individual fundraising, not as a team. Prizes are cumulative and you will be able to choose a prize from each fundraising level you achieve online after the walk!
Prizes will be available to view soon!
How do I collect my prizes for fundraising?
Tee shirts will be available for on-site to pick up at the event. All other prizes will be redeemed by email after the event. You will get to choose from a selection of prizes for each fundraising level achieved and they will be delivered to the address provided when you register! And you’ll have until June 14 to reach your fundraising goals! Be on the lookout for an email from Darter Specialties in the last week of June to redeem your prizes.
Is my Paws Walk registration fee tax deductible?
Unfortunately, no. The Internal Revenue Service considers entry fees for charitable events to be similar to tickets to sports games, gala events or theater performances—it is the price paid for attending and participating. Since it is considered an entertainment fee, it is not tax deductible. However, although the registration fee is not tax deductible, anything donated above and beyond that fee is. Also, any donation made to support a Paws Walk participant is tax deductible.
What is the deadline for turning in my donations?
All of the money you raise needs to be turned in by June 14, 2019.
How do I turn in cash donations that I have collected?
We have several options for you to turn in your donations: You may turn in your donations the day of Paws Walk in the registration area; mail the donations to the shelter at 104 Portsmouth Ave, Stratham, NH 03885 along with the donor’s information, noting that you are a Paws Walk participant; or drop the donations off at the shelter at your convenience. Cash donations turned in to the NHSPCA will be credited to your fundraising total but will not appear online unless specifically requested.
