Before coming up to New Hampshire, Hot Dog found herself residing in an overcrowded Texas shelter for 280 DAYS!  Yes, you read that right – she was homeless without any adoption interest for nearly a whole year. That is far too long for such a sweet girl to be without a home. The director at her old shelter personally recommended Hot Dog as a candidate for transport, knowing she would have a much better chance of finding a home here at the NHSPCA.

Once she arrived, it didn’t take long for our staff to fall madly in love with her. Hot Dog is an easy dog to adore, thanks to her natural affection for people. If she were suddenly granted three wishes from a genie, we have no doubt that her first two would involve “being able to hang out with her human friends forever.” As for her last wish, it would likely revolve around an endless supply of squeaky toys. This girl absolutely adores a good plush squeaky toy, happily spending hours tearing it apart— the louder the squeak, the better.

Don’t let Hot Dog being 6 years old fool you because she’s a very active gal. She loves to go for long walks and run around a fenced-in yard (with a squeaky toy of course). We were told that she has participated in doggie play groups at her previous shelter and was great with the other dogs.

If you can give this glorious girl the loving home that she has been waiting SO LONG for, please stop by the Adoption Center’s open hours every day except Wednesday (closed) from 11am – 4pm, or contact us at info@nhspca.org
