Everyone loves having a story read aloud to them, including animals! And lots of kids need practice reading aloud. Back again this fall, by popular demand, is our Reading With Animals program. Children in grades 1 through 8 who are able to read at any level are invited to the New Hampshire SPCA to read to either the cats in our community rooms, a friendly dog, or a small animal from the Humane Education classroom. This will help children improve their reading skills while also helping the animals by providing socialization and human interaction. Animals are completely non-judgmental; they don’t mind if you make a mistake or stumble over a word. They just like the sound of your voice and having you close by. So if you want to improve your reading skills and love animals, please consider coming to read to the animals at the New Hampshire SPCA You’ll be glad you did!
This program is free but you must register in advance.
