Bring or borrow a book and read to shelter animals. Research has shown that reading to animals has a positive impact on both the animals and the people who interact with them. It increases both reading proficiency and confidence in children. It also socializes the animals and helps them get adopted. Reading with animals is a win win for everyone!

Reading with Animals is open to everyone 5 years and older.

When: Every Wednesday* between 4 pm and 6 pm. Sessions are 20 minutes long
*Not held during the summer from end of June – August

This event takes place after regular hours and the building will be locked. Please come to the Adoption Center door. You will be greeted by staff at your assigned time.

Cost: $5 per session

To Register: Scroll down and pick a time block (or multiple) and add to your cart.  If registering a child, be sure to fill out the “Profile/user” information as the parent/guardian, then add the child as a “Participant”.
