She’s a beautiful 3-year-old tortie with a heart that’s still learning to trust. Right now, Vedder is feeling a little lonely and afraid, but considering the environment she came from, we can’t blame her. In her previous situation, she was mostly feral and had very limited interaction with people, so she’s still under-socialized and adjusting to this new and unfamiliar world around her. That said, Vedder is making quiet progress every day. Little by little, she’s starting to peek out from her shell and explore the world with cautious curiosity.
Vedder is an independent girl who isn’t quite ready to be a lap cat and may never be one, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t deserve love. What she needs most is a calm, understanding home where she can feel safe, go at her own pace, and be accepted for exactly who she is. Cozy hiding spots are a must, as is a family who can appreciate the small victories: a blink of trust, a moment spent out in the open, or a quiet purr.
If you believe every cat deserves a chance to be loved, even the ones who don’t quite know how to return it yet, Vedder may be the perfect match for you.
