Yes, Hawiwi is completely blind, but this sweet 2-year-old boy doesn’t want sympathy; he just wants to belong.
Hawiwi came to us from an overcrowding situation, and upon medical examination, we discovered he had glaucoma in both eyes. To relieve his pain and discomfort, he underwent a double enucleation (removal of both eyes). After some much-needed rest and recovery, Hawiwi is back on his feet and ready to find a loving home.
He’s a gentle, affectionate, and social kitty who gets along well with other cats and loves attention from his people. While he may not have his eyesight, Hawiwi doesn’t let that slow him down one bit. He’s adapted tremendously, relying on his other incredible feline senses: hearing, touch, and smell to confidently explore his surroundings. He uses the litter box, climbs cat towers, and finds his food bowl with ease.
Are you ready to give this brave, loving boy the forever home he deserves?
Come meet Hawiwi and let him show you just how amazing life with him can be!
