Niles is 65 pounds of best friend material.
Not long after this social guy found himself in an overwhelmed shelter in Texas, he caught the eye of a compassionate volunteer who knew all Niles needed was opportunity. They offered to foster this friendly boy until he could be transported to New England, and we are so appreciative because we learned just how great how this guy is in a home!
Two-year-old Niles is fully house trained, loooooves to relax in his crate, and for the most part, he’s a dream on leash (he does get little spurts of enthusiasm that are easy to redirect). Niles is the kind of dog who thinks everyone is a potential best friend: humans… dogs… you name it, he’s into it. He thrives on meeting new people and playing with dogs of all shapes and sizes, though we’re not sure that he has ever lived with a feline friend.
Niles gets so excited about new friends that he sometimes goes in for a full-on hug. The good news? He already knows “stay” and seems to really enjoy learning, so with a little consistency, he’s well on his way to polishing his manners.
