Mustang  | Female  |

Ever dreamed of adopting a mustang-but aren't looking to start completely from scratch? Gwen might be exactly the partner you've been searching for. Gwen is a mustang mare in her 20s who offers that special mustang spirit, independent, intelligent, and full of personality, while already having experience under saddle. She's not untouched, but she'll still challenge you in all the best ways, making her a rewarding match for an experienced, thoughtful handler. With her big boss-mare attitude, Gwen knows what she wants and appreciates a person who can provide clear, patient leadership. She'll need slow introductions to new horses and does best in a setup where she has her own space. Right now, she's content living next to another mare and enjoying her own turnout. Under saddle, Gwen has been ridden previously and shines most on the trails, though she can also work in an arena. That said, she's not currently a "hop on and go" type of horse, she'll need someone committed to groundwork and building a strong foundation of trust first. Once you earn that, Gwen has the potential to become an incredibly loyal and fulfilling partner. She's barefoot, an easy keeper, and up to date on all her care, including vaccines, dental work, and hoof trims. She'll benefit from a patient farrier who takes things at her pace, but she does well when handled thoughtfully. Gwen is perfect for someone who's always admired mustangs and wants that unique connection, without starting at square one, but still values the journey of building a partnership. If you're ready for a meaningful challenge and a truly special bond, Gwen is waiting. Fill out an adoption application on our website and email farmanimals@nhspca.org to learn more.
