Meet the marvelous MaDukes!

Like many pups before her, MaDukes (78 lbs) found her way to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. This great pyrenees/lab mix girl is approximately a year old, but she has already lived a lot of life. Through it all, she has remained a sweet, social, and friendly young lady who charms everyone that she meets.

We recently brought MaDukes to an offsite adoption event, and she was a hit! Her highlight of the day? Meeting a couple of toddlers and showering them with kisses. MaDukes adores kids and is very gentle and tolerant when interacting with them. It’s no surprise to anyone who’s spent time with her—MaDukes simply loves every human she meets and is eager to be their friend!

Humans aren’t the only species that MaDukes fancies, she also likes other dogs. We’ve held a doggy playdate with her and another dog here at the shelter and MaDukes did amazing. She plays with a very puppy like energy that some dogs like, and some don’t, so we strongly recommend an introduction to any potential K9 roommates.

Speaking of her puppy-like energy, one of MaDukes’ favorite things to do here at the shelter is to zoom around our fenced-in play yard. She adores playing with the many toys we have or simply running around the yard in general. She also loves going on long walks in the woods with her people.
