We’d like to welcome children ages 8-13 to the Humane Education classroom for our updated after-school programming! Offered for three sessions monthly, children can come spend an afternoon each week with our classroom animals! Participants in this program will play games, learn about different animals, and complete special projects. Children also have the option to work on homework, read a book, or do independent activities like puzzles, crossword puzzles, or coloring.

Children who participate in the After-school with the Animals program at the NHSPCA will also have time for an after-school snack (be sure to pack an extra for after school and note any allergy restrictions on the registration). Please note, if your child does bring homework, an adult will be available to supervise and help with clarification of assignments, but it is important to note that this is not a tutoring program. If your child needs more intensive support, this may not be the best fit.

After-school with the Animals will meet on Tuesdays from 2:30-4:00 pm, three times per month. Please note, your child is still welcome to attend if they arrive after 2:30, if they are dropped off and we are given advanced notice.

**Parents of children younger than 8, please contact [email protected] if you are interested in similar programming! **

Transportation Information:

While students from any town are welcome to attend, the SAU16 transportation department has kindly offered to establish a bus stop at the top of our hill for students from Cooperative Middle School who are attending our after-school program. Students who are participating in bussed transportation will need to remember to get on the correct bus on the correct dates and to remind the driver to drop them at the NHSPCA. An adult will be available to meet students at the top of the hill to walk them down to the building. Students who are not able to take the bus must be dropped off, and all students must be picked up. There is no before or after-care option for this program.

Middle school students should take bus number 26. Students must remember to tell the driver that they are being dropped at the NHSPCA.

Cost: $40 for one month (3 consecutive weeks)

REFUND POLICY: It is not the NHSPCA’s policy to offer refunds. If your child is unable to attend, ticket costs will be considered a donation.
