Do you have a couch that a homeless animal like Django could crash on for a little bit?
Finding foster families for some of the animals in our care is essential to our life-saving mission to rescue and find homes for as many animals as possible. For animals that come to us vulnerable, sick, or with special needs, there is nothing more crucial to their recovery than to be temporarily placed in a loving home with individualized care as they heal. Django, for example, is scheduled for a dental but isn’t on the books until April 23. We’d love to get him out of the stressful kennel environment as he waits, and provide him with a quiet, comfortable place to recover from his procedure until he is cleared for adoption.
Being a foster parent for an animal in need is truly invaluable. Fostering is a temporary commitment with permanent rewards for the animal — and you!
Have you been considering joining our foster family network? Let us tell you about the impact your decision would make:
- You get to enjoy quality time with an animal without the expense or commitment of pet ownership — we provide food, supplies, medical services, and all the support you might need along the way! Plus, it’s fun, flexible and rewarding.
- When an animal is removed from the shelter and placed in a foster home, a kennel is freed up for another animal in need. So, not only are you helping the animal you’ve welcomed into your heart and home, but also the one that came after that we were able to accept because we had the room.
- There’s no better way to learn about how an animal will be in a home than putting them in one! You will be able to help our staff obtain important information about the animal’s personality, likes and dislikes — information we might not have been able to learn in the shelter environment. This can radically decrease their length of stay and help us find the best fit for their forever home.
- Are there kids in your household? This is a great opportunity for them to learn about care, responsibility, and compassion for animals… plus it’s like they’re having a multi-day sleepover with a best friend!
- You’ll help promote rehabilitation by providing a safe and healthy environment for animals who need to heal from medical procedures.
We are looking to grow our foster network for dogs, cats and small animals! If you have room in your heart and home to make a tremendous difference, please click here to apply today!
