Bella is a gem of a dog who has been hiding in plain sight right here at the NHSPCA. Mention her name to any of our staff or volunteers and you’ll see how the mere thought of her generates smiles upon smiles. It’s honestly impressive she’s still the same, humble sweetheart she was when she first got here about 50 days ago given how often everyone’s singing her praises!
So, how is such a lovely dog still homeless? It might be her scarred skin, or the fact that she requires a prescription diet… but regardless, we have a feeling that her eventual family will feel like they truly hit the jackpot.
Of course… they’d be right.
This 6-year-old girl ended up in our care when her family was going through a divorce and were unable to find housing that allowed her. Upon her arrival, we noticed she had severe damage to her skin due to untreated allergies. She was placed in a loving foster home so she could begin to recover. A combination of antibiotics, medicated baths, prescription food and plenty of love has helped this girl start to heal.
While her skin has improved greatly since starting her treatments, she still has a long way to go and managing her allergies will be a life-long commitment. In return, you will get an unconditional love like no other.
So, will you help us find the very lucky family who will adopt Bella? Here’s what you need to know about her:
SOCIAL BUTTERFLY: Kids, cats, dogs… you name it, Bella’s into it. Her foster mom said you could introduce her to a dragon and she’d try to find a way to become best friends with him.
SENSITIVE SOUL: She’s a big fan of PDA and loves with her entire heart. From kisses whenever you’re near to wiggles when you get home, she will never leave you wondering if she loves you.
Does Bella sound like your soul dog in the making? We would love it if you would give this girl a chance. We know if you meet her, you’ll soon be like us… simply smiling at the thought of her. She’s just that good.
