You deserve a best friend committed to making sure your emotional tank is always filled to the brim with love. We can’t think of anyone better for that role than Diesel.

To say Diesel’s former owner was completely devastated to have to surrender his handsome boy would be an understatement — and it didn’t take long for us to understand why.

This right here is a truly special dog.

This 6-year-old boy has been homeless for almost 50 days now and is still waiting for someone to ask to meet him. He’s game to meet you any time, any day (we have to keep reminding him that we have open hours) but would prefer if it could happen outside his kennel. This is for two reasons: first, he’s pretty barky in his kennel and knows that as a blocky-headed boy, this can be a turnoff for potential adopters… and second, if there’s a glass door between the two of you, how on earth will he be able to snuggle you and give you kisses?!

He’s the kind of dog that really doesn’t ask for much… all he hopes of his new family is that they value quality time. There are independent dogs and there’s Diesel — the kind of pup that will likely snooze next to the shower while you’re in it.

Diesel has lived with children (ages 4, 6 and 11) but has never lived with other animals. We’ve learned he’s dog-selective and an excited player. If you believe he’d be a great fit for your family and have a resident dog, we’re happy to facilitate a dog introduction to make sure everyone’s safe and comfortable together.

In addition to people, Diesel is passionate about frisbees and car rides — though he will need to be strapped in because he’s known to try to crawl into the driver’s lap for some snuggles on the go! He’s lovely on leash and although he’s strong, he listens to direction well.

We assured Diesel’s former owner we’d find a family worthy of his beloved dog’s heart, which is worth its weight in gold. Interested in learning more? Please visit us Thursday-Tuesday between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and ask about this boy!
