Four-year-old potbelly pig Dude came to us in rough shape. His hooves and tusks had grown so long that moving around became a challenge. To make matters worse, he was also severely overweight, which further restricted his movement and added stress to his joints.

Shortly after his arrival, Dude was seen by a veterinarian who gave him a much-needed hoof and tusk trim. The difference was immediate—you could see the relief as he was finally able to move around without the burden of his overgrown hooves and tusks. We’ve also put Dude on a healthy diet to help him lose weight so he can be his best self. He is now much more active and loves to root around his pen looking for hidden veggies!

Until now, Dude hasn’t had much experience with humans, so he’s still unsure what to make of them. However, as the days go by, we’ve noticed him becoming more comfortable around his two-legged friends and starting to realize that humans are the ones in charge of his food and snacks.
