The NHSPCA Humane Education department is excited to continue to offer Farm Squad Camp for children ages 9-12 from April 20 – April 30 in 3 (2-day) sessions.

This exciting two-day camp experience will be a fun and educational mix of hands-on animal time, farm work, and crafts. Campers will learn about equine and other farm animal health, proper grooming, nutrition, and first aid.  They will also get to participate in daily farm chores such as feeding animals and mucking stalls. Handling farm tools such as rakes, shovels and wheelbarrows will be supervised.

Our Farm Squadcampers may also learn farmstead-type activities such as planting seeds for our Children’s Garden, sustainable farming practices, poultry, and maybe even bake yummy treats.

Farm life is different every day and at the NHSPCA, we provide care for animals with a wide variety of personalities, behavioral and medical needs. Campers will see animals during their program; however, we cannot guarantee a certain amount of direct animal contact. We make every effort to provide a balanced, educational and fun camp for everyone.

Please note, farm work is often messy and takes a lot of energy! Children will need to be able to work independently, with calm bodies and voices, and have an awareness of their surroundings. Please consider whether your child would enjoy these types of tasks, or be able to comply with these needs before registering.

“So many incredible skills, activities, and knowledge!  Included age-appropriate activities,
my daughter was so excited about her experiences!”

At the NHSPCA, we provide care for animals with a wide variety of personalities, behavioral and medical needs. Although campers will see animals during their program, we cannot guarantee a certain amount of direct animal contact.

Please note: The NHSPCA welcomes campers of all backgrounds and ability levels. We’d like to remind families that campers will be visiting a working animal shelter and are expected to follow directions and have calm bodies and quiet voices when around animals. Any campers engaging in unsafe or disruptive behaviors toward peers, staff, or the animals in our care may be dismissed from camp with no refund provided.
