Marty and I have been dog owners for all our 52 years of marriage, and all have been rescues of some sort. Our special “puppies” have been our only family. Since arriving in the Seacoast seven years ago we learned that the NHSPCA is more than an adoption facility. The scope of the services from animal rescue, rehabilitation, and training to medical care, to community outreach are truly remarkable. If you visit the facility, you get a sense of the magnitude of the care required and the amazing people who not only make the facility run but who volunteer their time to care for the variety of animals passing through these doors. As long-time educators we are so impressed with the SPCA’s involvement with young people, so they become the next generation of animal welfare advocates. It is easy to see that more animals are needing more care and our society is changing, putting more demands on the SPCA. That’s why we have chosen to support the NHSPCA’s Campaign for Changing Times with a generous donation. We must all speak for the animals!
