Many years ago, Chartreuse was a feral cat in Alaska. Over time, her life took her far from those wild beginnings; all the way to New England. Recently, she was surrendered to us, and now this six-year-old girl is hoping her long journey will lead her to a second chance, a calm, loving home where she can feel safe and loved.
After all she’s been through, Chartreuse is done with adventure. She prefers cozy corners and quiet rooms where she can watch the world from a safe distance. Here at the shelter, she spends much of her time tucked inside her favorite “kitty condo”; her own little comfort zone.
But don’t be fooled by her shyness. Beneath that cautious exterior is a deeply loving, loyal cat who truly wants to connect. Once Chartreuse feels safe, she opens up in the sweetest ways: gentle head bumps, soft purrs, and even cuddles with the people she learns to trust. It just takes time, patience, and kindness to help her feel secure enough to show that side of herself.
Chartreuse has shared space with both cats and dogs before. She’s perfectly polite but prefers to keep her distance; a calm home where she can be your quiet companion would be her dream come true.
She’s not searching for adventure anymore. She’s searching for peace, patience, and a person who understands that love doesn’t always rush out to meet you; sometimes, it hides until it knows it’s safe.
Could you be the one to give Chartreuse her second chance? Come meet her today.
