At 16 years old, Spartan has decided he’s had enough of the fast-paced racehorse life and is ready to settle down into a peaceful retirement. He’s looking for a loving home where he can enjoy the good life, think sunny pastures, slow strolls, and lots of well-deserved TLC.  Could that be with you?

Spartan is a Thoroughbred, and he certainly carries himself like one! During his evaluation ride, Spartan impressed us with his calm demeanor under saddle, even when ridden in just a halter bridle in the indoor arena. Due to the wear and tear of his racing days, he should be limited to light riding, such as leisurely walking trail rides.

While Spartan can sometimes be energetic when out in the field, the moment you put a halter on him, he settles right down and becomes an absolute gentleman on the ground.

He is up to date on vaccines and dental care, and gets along well with other horses. One of Spartan’s quirks? He likes to think of himself as the “cool uncle” of the herd; he’s protective and gentle with foals, always keeping a watchful eye on the little ones.

If you’re looking for a kind, wise soul to share your pastures and your heart, Spartan could be your perfect match.
