This year, we’ve made a significant effort to expand our transport program to assist overcrowded shelters nationwide and find homes for more animals in need. So far, the program has been a great success, with over 1,800 animals finding homes compared to 960 at this same time last year. While many of our transport partners are from shelters outside of New England, we also step in to help local shelters when they become overcrowded from time to time. A perfect example is Hot Dog Bun, a 1-year-old dog who recently came to us from a nearby shelter where he was originally found as a stray.

This boy is just as cute and silly as his name suggests! He instantly steals the heart of everyone he meets. I mean, how could you not fall in love with him? Just look at that wrinkly forehead and those soft eyes! Hot Dog Bun loves to play, and his energetic, full-contact playstyle makes him a big fan of some good old-fashioned tug-of-war. He’s gotten along well with other dogs, though we strongly recommend a meet-and-greet with any potential canine roommates.

Hot Dog Bun is a sweet and social boy who naturally gravitates toward people whenever he can. He loves going on walks, though he can sometimes be a bit strong on the leash—probably because he’s never had a family to teach him how to walk nicely. The good news is that he’s eager to please, and with a little time and patience, he can become your new best friend!

Interested in adopting Hot Dog Bun? Stop by and meet him during our Adoption Center’s open hours from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays or email us at info@nhspca.org.
