Julia’s first year of life hasn’t exactly been a walk in the park… but now that she’s here in New Hampshire, she’s one step closer to the love and security she’s always dreamed of.
Originally rescued in Louisiana, Julia was found with a severe eye injury that, sadly, could not be repaired. For her comfort and well-being, the decision was made to remove the eye—giving her a permanently adorable winky face!
When this athletic girl arrived on a recent transport, it immediately felt like she was meant to be in New England all along. She looooves the snow and if we let her, she would spend hours bouncing through it with the cutest little bunny hops you’ve ever seen!
At first, Julia tends to be a bit reserved and takes her time to assess new surroundings and people. With a little patience, though, her sweet and affectionate nature shines through. She absolutely thrives in the company of other dogs, gaining confidence with every gentle interaction. Playgroup is her happy place—especially when her friends love to wrestle just as much as she does.
Julia would do best in a home with older children (or no children), where she can continue to blossom at her own pace. She’s looking for a family who will see her not just for what she’s been through, but for who she is—a resilient, loving soul with so much to give.
Could you be the one to give Julia the home she’s been waiting for? Stop by and meet her! Our Adoption Center is open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays (closed), and we’re located at 104 Portsmouth Avenue in Stratham, NH. We hope to see you soon!
This Pet of the Week is brought to you by our generous Freezin’ for a Reason Sponsor, Murphy, Powers & Wilson, CPAs. Join us for the Doggie Paddle Plunge this Saturday, February 22 to help save more animals like Julia!
