She may not hear your voice, but she’ll feel your love.

Misty, an 11-year-old deaf cat with a gentle soul, came to us after her owner faced an impossible choice during a medical crisis after she was attacked by another cat. Now fully healed and ready to begin her next chapter, she’s just waiting for someone to welcome her home.

Misty is a total lovebug; she adores receiving affection and doesn’t mind being held. She’s not much for toys, but she’s always up for curling up beside you on the couch or snuggling into bed. Because she can’t hear, she tends to be a bit more vocal than most cats, but don’t worry, she’s just chatting to get your attention!

Caring for a deaf cat might sound a bit daunting at first, but it’s really not much different from caring for any other feline friend. Here are a few tips:

🐾Use visual cues (like hand signals) or gentle vibrations (such as tapping the floor) to get their attention.
🐾 Provide a stable, predictable environment to help reduce stress.
🐾 Offer interactive toys, food puzzles, and other enrichment to keep them mentally and physically engaged.

Misty may live in a quieter world, but her heart speaks volumes. She’s looking for a peaceful, indoor home with someone who will appreciate her gentle spirit and give her all the love she’s been waiting for!
