Meet Knuckles, the gentle giant who’s stolen the hearts of many here at the NHSPCA. This big boy is the perfect combination of sweet and beefy and hasn’t met a couch he doesn’t like. Don’t let his size fool you, Knuckles is a very easy, albeit slow, walking partner on leash. He loves to take his time, meandering and sniffing everything. He’s social and likes other dogs too… we think he’d have a blast at Paws Walk!

Like so many other animals in our care, Knuckles story is a little bit heartbreaking. Knuckles came to us after a long stay at an overcrowded shelter in Florida, where sadly there are more deserving pets than loving homes. He’s had several owners in his short lifetime. The first in Florida loved Knuckles but couldn’t care for him at the time. The next, who met him at the NHSPCA, wanted to give Knuckles all the love in the world, but this sweet beefcake couldn’t walk up the stairs to their home.

Knuckles is back at the NHSPCA patiently waiting for his forever family. There’s good news – because of critical funds raised at events like Paws Walk, we’re able to help Knuckles and other homeless pets for as long as it takes. Here at the NHSPCA, we’re an open admission, unlimited stay facility and never put a time stamp on our animals finding a safe and loving home.
