Domestic Short Hair  | Female  | 10

Meet Sophie! 🐾 Sophie is a sweet, fluffy girl who came to the NHSPCA with her friend Paul. She's a little more nervous than Paul and may need some extra time to feel comfortable, but underneath that initial shyness is a gentle girl who enjoys the finer things in life-treats, naps, and plenty of pets! Sophie is a bit of a big girl, carrying some extra weight that her future family will want to help her manage. A healthy diet, appropriate portions, treats in moderation, and encouraging her to get some gentle exercise will help her work toward a healthier weight and keep her feeling her best. Sophie seems to have a pretty relaxed personality, so her new family may have to help her find fun ways to become a little more active without rushing her. Like Paul, Sophie is happiest when she's comfortable and cozy. She enjoys being pet and may very well turn into a wonderful lap cat once she has had time to settle in and trust her new people. She isn't necessarily the type to immediately throw herself into your arms, but with patience and consistency, she should have plenty of love to give. Sophie will do best with a family willing to let her adjust at her own pace. A calm environment, a comfortable place to retreat, and gentle interactions will help her feel safe enough to let her personality come out. For the right person, watching this nervous girl gradually relax and learn that she's home could be incredibly rewarding. If you're looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who appreciates a good nap, tasty treats, gentle pets, and a cozy place to call her own, Sophie could be your girl. Come meet her and give this lovable big girl the time she needs to show you just how special she is! The NHSPCA Adoption Center is located at 104 Portsmouth Ave in Stratham, NH.
