Shepherd | Male | 1
Jake from State Farm (approximately 69 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. Don't worry, this dude does not want to sell you insurance - he wants to be your lifelong best friend & companion! He is a popular fellow around the NHSPCA due to his super social & friendly nature, not to mention the fact that he is good on leash and keeps a very clean kennel. His previous shelter tells us that he is fully crate trained, and we believe them! Our boy was a rock star in the doggie play groups at his previous shelter and got along well with dogs of all sizes, even the small ones! He will match energy with high energy dogs but tones it down and is very respectful of calmer dogs that don't want to engage. Jake does still have puppy energy and will jump up on his people for attention and loving, but we think that a lot of that jumpiness with dissipate out of the shelter setting with consistent human interaction and just a little bit of training/redirection. He was fantastic for his veterinary exam and quickly added our veterinary team to his long list of admirers.
If you've been waiting for a super social shepherd mix boy, please stop by the Adoption Center's OPEN HOURS EVERY DAY EXCEPT WEDNESDAY from 11am to 4pm, or contact the NHSPCA at info@nhspca.org
